Julie Madriguera
Julie Madriguera, a USDF Silver Medalist and USDF L* Graduate, brings fifteen
years of professional horse care and
training experience to Alliance Dressage. She began her dressage career with USDF certified instructor (T-Fourth level)
Vicki Hammers O’Neil, and has studied dressage under Lyndon Rife since 1994.
Julie has also gained experience riding with clinicians such as Kalman de
Jurenak, Odod Shimoni, Hans Heinrich Meyer zu Strohen, and Jane Savoie, in
addition to attending USDF trainers’ symposiums with Conrad Schumacher, and USDF
Certification clinics.
In
2001-2002 Julie spent six months in the barn of Gertjan and Anne Van Olst in the
Netherlands. She had the opportunity to ride horses of many ages, breeds, and
levels (including International Grand Prix Champions) and to study with the
three time Danish Olympian Anne, her bereiter, Jai Bratton, and Ed Borresson and
Monica Sinks.
Julie has taken riders of all ages and levels to the competition arena with
great success. Her students have won championships and top
placing at the regional championships over the years and she has also taken many
horses to the show ring with success over the years. Although her own personal
competition record has not been a priority, Julie can often be found behind the
scenes coaching, primping both horses and riders, and lending a helping hand,
she earned the 2000 USDF/GAIG Fourth level Open Championship, reserve
championship at Prix St George, many victories in the region and Colorado and
she will soon begin a competitive career with a new, young partner Luna (by Lehnsritter). Julie also serves as the USDF Region 9 Competitors’ Council
representative, the Region 9 NAYRC team Chef, and is a regular contributor to
many of the local dressage publications (visit Articles page).
